Lucas walked in. His boots clomping on the wooden boards of the floor. He came up to the innkeeper's counter and asked, "May I have a room?"

Ai walked into the inn, swinging her suitcase playfully. She looked around for the front desk and saw a young man standing there. She walked up to him and politly asked, "Excuse me, this is where we get our rooms right?" Ai had never actually gotten a room for herself, usually her manager did it for her. She smiled her beautiful smile that always got her the front cover, "I'm Ai Wolvesrayne by the way," her Irish accent slightly sounding more English, she offered him her hand in greeting, "May I ask your name?"

The innkeeper gave him ROOM 1 key, "Here you go, young man."

Ai turned to the innkeeper and smiled, "Hi, I would like a room as well. Do I need to make a 50 G downpayment now or later?" She asked this even though she knew the answer was most likely later, she wanted to know because she didn't have much gold on her.

Lucas turned to see a young woman, a very beautiful, fit to be a model type and he smiled, "Yeah, this is where you get a room."
He took out 51GP from his pocket and handed it to the innkeeper, "Keep the change." He said in his generous way.
Lucas' grin continued to stay glued on his face, as he looked down at the young lady, "Ai Wolvesrayne? Cool name! I'm Lucas." He shook the hand that she had held out for him. His rough hand felt another soft hand, like the young woman Phoebe he had recently met who had been so kind as to show him the way to the Inn.

Ai smiled, "It's very nice to meet you Lucas." She felt that his hand was quite rough, "Your hands, you must be a craftsmen, are you not?" In her village in Ireland she had touched many a hand just as rough if not more and they had all belonged to craftsmen.

Lucas laughed a little under his breath, "Sort of. More of a logger than a carpenter."
He took his pack off and took out a little wooden toy trinket he had made. It was a bird, a hermit thrush type bird. Small and looking a little poofy.
"I make stuff like this. Nothing fancy." He smiled, "Here," Lucas handed it to her. He had given Phoebe one, so why not Ai? "A little welcome gift, I guess."

Ai's golden eyes glittered joyously as he handed her the little bird. "Oh, thank you! It is so well-made...I love birds. Thank you Lucas, I'll cherish it." She held the small bird and ran her delicate fingers over it's surface. "Since you've shared what it is you do I guess I could share," she smiled, "I'm a seamstress of sorts. If you ever need something like clothes, blankets and what nots, just come to me. I'd be more than willing to help out."

Lucas grinned, "A seamstress? That's cool! I've never really understood how to make clothes without...Pricking your fingers, but thank you!"
Lucas wonder, 'Man! She's really nice, but I guess it was pure luck that she liked birds."
He spoke up when she said she would want to repay him somehow, shaking his head, "No, it's fine! Meeting another person in town, especially one like you, is gift enough. I used to live in a very remote area not too far away so it's really great to meet more people."
Lucas' smile shined. Everyone here was so nice, he'd surely like it here. As did his smile, so did shine the Native American necklace of his mother's which hung from his neck.

Ai returned his smile with her sincerest one. Her eye caught the necklace around his neck, "That's a very beautiful necklace. Did someone special give it to you?" She wasn't trying to be nosey, she just liked learning new things about people.

Lucas looked at his necklace. He had explained to Phoebe a little, but he knew there was a limit to explaining it until he would struggle.
He picked it up a little to show it to her, but he dared not to take it off, "It's a Native American necklace from way back to when explorers came to the Americas. My mother's side had always had it, passing it down through generations."
Lucas' tone quieted, "It was my mother's...Before she passed away. She gave it to me in hopes I would always wear it until...I find someone...for me."
He gave a sigh, putting his necklace on his chest once again. Lucas smiled once again, trying not to think about his mother, "I don't mean to sound nosy, but do you have something important to you? Like this I mean?"

Ai thingyed her head and thought for a moment, "Well, I have a sewing box that my mother had handcrafted for me when I was born, she gave it to me before I leaft Ireland for Japan. I cherish it always." Ai put her hand on her heart, "That's the only physical thing that's special to me, but what is more special to me than any trinket are the memories that I have with my family and friends. There is no amount of gold or jewels that can overcome the beauty of a memory." She looked up and laughed lightly, "Don't worry, your not nosey, I like sharing about myself, I love hearing other people's stories as well. As for your trinket, your mother must of had great insight. I'm most certain you'll find your Muirin Beatha Dan to give it to."

Lucas realized after what she had said, the greatest valuable doesn't have to be a trinket, but the memories of loved ones. His memories of his mother and father filled his heart with warmth, as did the ones of his uncle and even his aunt. Only one, his uncle, was still alive, so he thought it would be best if he made some great memories here too.
He had never met someone who was so thoughtful like that and he smiled.
Then she talked about something he had never heard before. A Muirin Beatha Dan. He had never heard of such a term before.
Lucas looked at her confused, "My Muirin Beatha Dan?"

Ai put her hand to her mouth in embarresment, "I'm sorry, I often find myself speaking Gaelic to those who most likely have no idea what it is." But, despite her embarassement, she smiled broadly and continued to explain, "Gaelic is an ancient language that is still used quite often in Ireland. It's the language that most Pagan's there speak. A Muirin Beatha Dan is the Gaelic term for Soulmate." "I prefer to say Muirin Beatha Dan more than soulmate because it sounds more enchanting and passionate." However a sudden sad lood crossed her face as she was reminded of all the young men who had fooled her into thinking that they were hers. She quickly returned a smile to her face. "I'm sorry if I bore you, I get quite passionate when it comes to certain topics."
